Born and raised in Oklahoma, Ryan Hunter has always had a strong connection with dogs. Growing up with two small pups, he developed a deep appreciation for the loyalty, companionship, and joy they bring into our lives. Today, he lives in Edmond with his dog Rambo – an incredibly smart, loyal companion who’s rarely far from his side. Rambo actually went through our board and train program with a previous owner, and when he was later re-homed, Ryan stepped in and adopted him. Living with a dog who had already been through our training gave Ryan a front-row seat to just how effective and life-changing the program really is. It was this firsthand experience – combined with the influence of his closest friends, who are long-time Off Leash trainers—that inspired him to join the team and become a professional trainer himself. Ryan is also a proud father to Sterling (5) and Ivy (4), and takes great pride in raising them with the same kind of calm, consistent leadership he brings to his training. His natural ability to connect with dogs (and people) shows up in every session, making the learning process smoother for both dog and owner. He’s currently pursuing his Master’s degree in Addictions Counseling at the University of Central Oklahoma. His passion for helping people overcome life’s challenges is what first led him into the field of counseling—and it’s that same passion for transformation and growth that drives his work as a trainer. Ryan’s goal is simple: to help families build stronger, more peaceful relationships with their dogs. With Ryan, your dog will be in a safe, supportive, and structured environment—led by someone who truly believes in the power of the program because he’s lived it.
