Dog Training in Warr Acres, OK

Professional Dog Training in Warr Acres, OK

If your dog pulls on the leash every time you step outside, ignores commands the moment a distraction appears, or jumps on every visitor who walks through your door, you already know how frustrating daily life can become. Poor recall, difficulty settling at home, reactive behavior at the doorbell, and inconsistent obedience are common concerns that often require clear expectations, consistent practice, and appropriate training support.

Dog training in Warr Acres doesn’t have to mean settling for basic group classes or hoping your dog eventually grows out of unwanted behavior. Off Leash K9 Training of Oklahoma serves Oklahoma City and surrounding communities, offering structured private lessons, immersive Board and Train programs, reward-based marker training, puppy consultation, and therapy dog preparation. Warr Acres residents can contact the team to confirm program availability for their location and find an option suited to their dog’s age, temperament, behavioral needs, and family goals.

The desire for clearer communication and more consistent obedience is shared by many dog owners. Dogs of different breeds, sizes, ages, and backgrounds may benefit from professional training that develops more reliable responses around real-world environments, everyday routines, and common distractions.

Find the Right Training Program for Your Dog

Basic Obedience Private Lessons

Basic Obedience includes four private lessons conducted over four weeks. Each session is one-on-one with a trainer, giving your dog focused attention and giving you direct coaching on handling, timing, and reinforcement.

Training topics include come, sit, down, place, loose-leash heel, and off. An e-collar and 15-foot training leash are included with the program. Owner participation is central – you will receive homework after each lesson, and the website states that it must be completed daily and consistently between sessions.

Basic & Advanced Obedience

Basic & Advanced Obedience includes eight private lessons. The first four cover the full Basic Obedience curriculum. The remaining four introduce advanced skills such as extended-distance obedience, advanced heel work, watch, through, front, and stand.

E-collars are included in Basic and Advanced Obedience programs along with a training leash. This option suits owners who want broader, more reliable control and are committed to consistent practice across the full eight-week timeline.

Basic Marker Mastery™

Basic Marker Mastery™ is a four-week positive-reinforcement program built around marker and clicker training. It covers sit, come, place, and loose-leash walking while incorporating confidence-building exercises throughout each session.

Equipment includes a 15-foot leash, clicker, and slip lead. This program does not use e-collars. It may be a strong fit for dogs that benefit from reward-based methods or for owners who prefer a marker-based approach. It should not be confused with the e-collar-based obedience programs – each method serves different dogs and different goals.

Private In-Home Training

Private In-Home Training brings the lesson to your home or a convenient nearby environment when service is available for your location. Available in four-lesson Basic Obedience and eight-lesson Basic & Advanced Obedience formats, these sessions allow you and your trainer to work around the distractions and routines your dog encounters in everyday life.

E-collars and training leashes are provided for in-home lessons. Availability is limited to select days, and additional travel charges may apply for distances beyond 15 miles. Warr Acres residents should call or email the team to confirm scheduling and availability for their address.

1 Week Freedom Board and Train

The 1 Week Freedom Board and Train is an immersive program where your dog stays with a professional trainer. Training focuses on recall, foundational obedience, household manners, and responses around multiple distractions and environments.

Skills include come, sit, down, place, off, loose-leash heel, load up, recall around distractions, and house manners. The program includes an e-collar, training leash, and an owner handoff session after training completion so you learn exactly how to maintain every skill at home.

2 Week Board and Train

The 2 Week Board and Train extends immersive training to two full weeks, adding extended-distance obedience, door manners, and obedience work across multiple environments and distractions. Training focuses on obedience and behavior improvement in real-world settings – not just controlled spaces.

The program includes daily photo or video updates, a before-and-after transformation video, an e-collar, training leash, and a thorough owner handoff session. Continued practice at home is essential to maintain the progress your dog achieves during the program.

4 Week Board and Train

The 4 Week Board and Train provides four full weeks of immersive, one-on-one training while your dog stays in a professional trainer’s home rather than a kennel or training facility. The program covers basic and advanced obedience, real-world distraction training, household etiquette, door and vehicle manners, confidence building, and impulse control.

Skills include sit, down, place, come, heel, off, touch, sit in motion, and additional commands based on the program curriculum. Daily photos or videos, a before-and-after transformation video, an e-collar, a 15-foot training leash, and a two-hour owner turnover session are included. The program is available for dogs six months and older. Complete elimination of certain behavioral or anxiety-related concerns cannot be guaranteed, and consistent follow-through at home is required.

New Puppy Consultation

Not every puppy is ready for formal obedience, and that is normal. The New Puppy Consultation is a one-hour session that helps owners establish potty training, kennel training, and confidence-building routines during the early puppy stage.

The consultation provides a foundation that prepares the puppy and owner for formal obedience training at approximately 24 weeks old. The trainer can also answer questions about the puppy’s potty, kennel, and confidence-building phase of life.

Therapy Dog Development Board and Train

Therapy Dog Development is a two-week program that prepares dogs for therapy-dog testing and certification. Training includes obedience and manners topics like come, sit, place, heel, down, off, come to heel, extended-distance commands, door manners, greeting manners, meal manners, and working around distractions in different environments.

E-collars are included in the Therapy Dog Development program. The program prepares the dog and owner for therapy dog testing and certification. Completing the training does not itself certify the dog because testing and certification are separate steps.

Frequently Asked Questions About Dog Training in Warr Acres

How much does dog training cost in Warr Acres, OK?

Program pricing varies based on the training format, length, and included equipment. Visit the Plans & Pricing page or call (405) 833-4622 for current pricing, payment options, and any applicable travel surcharges for in-home sessions. Additional travel charges may apply beyond 15 miles.

Which dog training program does my dog need?

The right program depends on your dog’s age, behavior, training history, your availability, and your goals. A free phone consultation helps compare private lessons, in-home training, marker-based training, puppy guidance, Therapy Dog Development, and available Board and Train programs so you can identify an appropriate option.

At what age should puppy training begin?

Owners can begin establishing potty, kennel, and confidence-building routines when a puppy comes home. The New Puppy Consultation helps owners work through these early foundations and prepare their puppy for formal obedience training at approximately 24 weeks old.

Can an older dog still be trained?

Most dogs can learn new skills regardless of age. Methods may be adapted based on training history, established habits, physical comfort, and the species’ natural instincts and ability to learn. Older dogs often respond well to structured, consistent training when owners commit to reinforcement at home. Read more in our dog training questions guide.
