Frequently Asked Questions

What training methods do you use?

Methods and equipment vary by program. Basic Obedience, Basic & Advanced Obedience, the current Board and Train options, and Therapy Dog Development use an e-collar where listed. Basic Marker Mastery™ uses reward-based marker and clicker training without e-collars or prong collars.

How long does private dog training take?

Private options include four- and eight-lesson formats. Basic Marker Mastery™ consists of four one-hour sessions over four weeks. Current Board and Train programs last one, two, or four weeks.

Will I need to practice between lessons?

Yes. The Basic Obedience program includes homework that must be practiced consistently. Continued practice is also important after Board and Train so owners can maintain the commands and routines covered during the program.

Do you work with aggressive or reactive dogs?

Training may help owners develop clearer communication, stronger obedience, and better management around difficult situations. However, major aggression cannot be guaranteed to be eliminated.

Disclose your dog’s complete behavior and bite history during the consultation so the team can discuss whether an available program may be appropriate.
